‘Twelfth Night’ with a twist

Friday marks opening night for Providence College’s rendition of Shakespeare’s “Twelfth Night.” After a shipwreck separates Viola from her twin brother, she disguises herself a man, and puts herself in the middle of a love affair between Duke Orsino and Countess Olivia. The plot thickens when Viola discovers her brother has also survived the shipwreck. This comedy is the Elizabethan tale of mistaken identities, love triangles and drunken antics, but will feature a modern twist on class issues and sexual ambiguity. When: Friday, Oct. 26 through Sunday, Nov. 4 Where: Angell Blackfriars Theatre at Providence Collegeâ??s Smith Center for the Arts, Eaton Street, Providence Additional Information: Performances are held Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays through Sunday, Nov. 4.
