The story of Sound City

Film fans and rock ‘n’ rollers can learn a little about both areas Thursday during a screening of “Sound City,” a film about an unsung recording studio directed by Dave Grohl of Nirvana and the Foo Fighters. Sound City is a recording studio located in Van Nuys, Calif., nestled among dilapidated warehouses. Throughout the years, it’s hosted artists such as Fleetwood Mac, Neil Young, Rick Springfield, Tom Petty and Metallica. The film shares Sound City’s history and features interviews and performances from the musicians who recorded albums inside.
