Native plants workshop at Blithewold

Thursday, gardeners can learn how to select native plants that adapt well to Rhode Island’s climate and soil conditions. Blithewold Mansion, Gardens and Arboretum will host instructors from the Rhody Native initiative, who will cover the basics of native species propagation through a hands-on workshop. Topics to be discussed include seed collection, ethical issues and cleaning techniques. Participants will take home a mixed flat of native plant seeds that they can watch germinate in the spring.
