Lace up your skates

Bank of America City Center Skating Rink opens for the winter season Wednesday. Patrons can ice skate outdoors in downtown Providence, paying the same admission rates and rental prices as they have for the last eight years. Providence’s 14,000-square-foot rink is twice the size of the one in New York City’s Rockefeller Plaza. Skaters are welcome Thanksgiving Day, and on Friday, players from the Brown Bears hockey team will skate with the public and sign autographs. Check the website for more special events and promotions, including lunchtime and after-work specials. When: Daily through winter Where: : Bank of America City Center Skating Rink, Kennedy Plaza, Providence Additional Information: Admission: $6 adults, $3 seniors and children younger than 12. Skate rentals are $4 per person. Seasonal passes are available. Rink will be open Wednesday, Nov. 21 and Thanksgiving Day at 4 p.m. Following Thanksgiving, regular hours will be Monday through Friday, 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. and Saturdays and Sundays, 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. The skating rink is open on all winter holidays.
