Join the Smithfield Historical Society for its annual Colonial Dinner at the historic Smith-Appleby House. Participants will enjoy a menu that would make Martha Washington proud, complete with whole-kernel cornbread, soup, salad, baked beans, herb-crusted ham and vegetables, including baked yams with maple syrup and pecans. Docents dressed in period costume will serve the authentic Colonial-style meal. The Smith-Appleby house was built by Elisha Smith, the grandson of John Smith, a member of Roger William’s party of six men who left the Massachusetts Bay Colony to settle in Providence. When: Friday, Nov. 9 and Sunday, Nov. 10, 6:30 to 10 p.m. Where: Smith-Appleby House, 220 Stillwater Road, Smithfield Additional Information: Cost: $25 per person. Reservations are required.
